The group will arrive Reno Airport at midday after the flights from Ohio and will be met by the group's Tour Director at the airline baggage claim. The group will then board a deluxe motorcoach for the drive to Virginia City, at one time the Queen of the West. Born of the fabulous Comstock silver strike of 1859, Virginia City flourished for twenty years before the ore ran out and the town died. Today the town is the West's most famous ghost town and looks just as it did in its heyday, Perched on the flanks of Mt. Davidson, Virginia City. Members of the group can explore its numerous saloons and restaurants, its restored Victorians, the old mine shafts, and the town's infamous Boot Hill Cemetery. There are a host of specialty and souvenir shops found along the well-trodden boardwalks of the main street and many of the saloons have "one-arm bandits" for those who wish to try their luck playing the slot machines. The tour continues to Carson City, the capital of Nevada. The city was named after the famous frontier guide Kit Carson and today features government buildings, museums, and beautifully restored Victorians. The driving tour of Carson City will include the Capitol complex which provides a picturesque campus setting with its State Capitol, Legislative Building, Supreme Court, and State Library and Archives. The drive will conclude in the late afternoon at Bally's, a hotel casino at Stateline, Nevada. Following pre-registered check-in at Bally's tour members will have time to relax and freshen up. This evening the group will enjoy a gala welcome dinner at the Chart House. Following dinner the group will head back to the hotel where tour members can gamble the night away at one of the casinos at Stateline, NV.

Day 2 /Thursday, September 18, 2025 (Breakfast included)
Each morning the group will first have breakfast at the hotel. The day is unstructured so that individuals can enjoy the area at their own pace. Many members of the group will want to tempt Lady Luck and continue the quest for the jackpot. Others will opt to take a walk along the beach at Stateline or take the Heavenly Gondola to the mountain top. The area bounds with recreational activities. For the hiker, the spectacular trailheads offer magnificent waterfalls and rushing creeks, alpine lakes and massive granite peaks. With hundreds of fishable streams, rivers, and lakes, Tahoe is an angler's paradise. From large mackinaws and kokanee salmon to trophy-sized cutthroat trout and white bass, the fishing choices are virtually endless. There's four wheel drive rentals, horseback riding, parasailing, kayaking,.and miles of excellent bicycle trails.

The floor of the valley is a meadow threaded by the Merced River and diversified with groves of pine and oak, thickets of shrubbery, and beautiful varieties of flowers, ferns, and grass. The valley walls rise, almost vertically, to a height of 2000 to 4000 feet above the meadow. Great domes and and pinnacles stand out against the sky.
